As she got older and learned more, that early spark grew into a clear sense of direction. She studied Political Science and Spanish, minored in Communications, and shaped her entire academic path around getting into law school.
Brenda Muñoz-Rigor
Brenda Muñoz-Rigor always knew she wanted to be a lawyer.
“I highly recommend Ibrahim Law Global for their exceptional service in handling my wife’s green card process. They expertly managed the I-130 and I-485, ensuring everything was accurate and timely. Incredibly responsive and attentive—truly exceeded our expectations.”
– Deniell V.
Her commitment to immigration law began in a very personal way.
Brenda helped her mother apply for lawful permanent residency, acting not just as the petitioner but also as the paralegal on the case. Later, she represented her mother as her attorney in renewing that status.
Brenda also helped her father—who had already acquired citizenship but never obtained his certificate—finally get the documentation he needed. That experience taught Brenda how overwhelming and confusing the immigration system can be, even for those who technically qualify. It’s one of the reasons she’s so committed to making sure her clients feel informed and empowered every step of the way.
Over the years, Brenda has handled everything from family-based petitions to humanitarian relief and employment-based immigration matters. She’s worked with clients from many different backgrounds, including a significant number of Chinese-speaking clients during her time at a previous firm. In one case, a court interpreter who had worked alongside her multiple times reassured a client: “Relax—she’s one of the best attorneys in the Chicago Immigration Courts.”
Brenda knows how high the stakes can be. She’s helped people reunite with spouses and children after years apart, guided clients through complicated waivers, and supported entire families through the emotional strain of long wait times and uncertain outcomes. One client told her that meeting Brenda changed her life—she was finally able to visit her home country, introduce her children to their grandparents, and reconnect with family members she hadn’t seen in years.
Because immigration cases can take months or even years to resolve, Brenda works to build lasting relationships based on trust, transparency, and compassion.
She knows how it feels to be on the other side of the process—and she brings that understanding to every case she takes on.
When she’s not working, Brenda enjoys spending time with family and staying involved in her community. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and a proud member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
