Mohammed Ibrahim

When Mohammed Ibrahim opened his law firm, he did it with a clear mission: to be the kind of immigration lawyer he wished he’d had.

Mohammed came to the U.S. as a student after already earning his law degree and working with both USAID and the United Nations to help underserved communities in Iraq.

Navigating the U.S. immigration system taught him what many immigrants know all too well: silence from attorneys, a lack of answers, and the constant, gnawing uncertainty of what comes next.

He saw firsthand how broken the system was—and how urgently it needed to change. That realization has guided his practice ever since.

“After being told by two other lawyers that my case wouldn’t be approved, I found Ibrahim Law. They took care of everything—and a few months later, my case was approved. Thank you!”

— Ismail B.

Mohammed has been working with immigrants and refugees for most of his life.

He started out working with USAID. While working with the USAID, he worked as a policy and legislative specialist helping local governments drafting and implementing legislations and public policies. Mohammed also worked with the U.N. to provide legal guidance and services in his home country of Iraq for refugees and displaced people. From there, he got a law degree from Tikrit University and moved to the U.S. to continue his studies.

While studying law at Valparaiso University Law School, Mohammed was simultaneously working to become a lawful permanent resident. Frustrated with the lack of communication and progress from his immigration lawyer, he decided to take matters into his own hands. After earning his law degree, he fired his lawyer and handled the whole case by himself.

It was after this experience that Mohammed dedicated himself to making sure other immigrants are not subjected to the same frustrations and delays. At Ibrahim Law Global, clients receive routine communication, honest expectations, and proactive behind-the-scenes check-ins to keep things moving forward.

For Mohammed, every case is personal. He knows exactly how his clients feel, because he’s been in their shoes. He knows what it’s like to be held back by inaction and incompetence, and he’s determined to be a different kind of immigration lawyer for his clients.

Mohammed has seen every kind of immigration case walk through his door. One group of asylum applicants had been waiting for asylum since 2012 because their immigration attorney was convicted of filing fraudulent cases. Once Mohammed and his team stepped in, their case was approved after only three months.

Another client applied for a green card on her own before coming to Ibrahim Law Global, and faced setback after setback. Mohammed took the federal government to court, and provided so much evidence to support her case that her application was approved within days.

When he’s not working overtime to provide his clients with the best immigration legal services they can receive, Mohammed enjoys spending time with his family, family trips are a great opportunity to relax and destress, and also he enjoys golfing and coming back to the office more refreshed and ready than ever.

At the end of the day, it’s his clients’ success stories that make his job worth it.

From refugees seeking asylum to professionals seeking job opportunities, Mohammed and his team are dedicated to speaking up for people who have no voice in the immigration system, and helping them to change their lives for the better.
